Unleash These 4 Types of Kingdom Power in Your Sphere of Influence

(Unsplash/Erwan Hesry)

The apostle Paul got it when he wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 that his ".. speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."

God did not send His Son to die a torturous death to let us continue to struggle in our weakness and flesh. Jesus died to give us not only eternal life but kingdom power—the power to walk this earth as He walked and unleash the power of heaven into everywhere and everyone we meet.

Yet this thought should not frighten us. It should excite us!

So what constitutes kingdom power? What are the types of kingdom power available to disciples of Christ? And what can we do to unleash it here on earth?

Here is a quick overview of four types of kingdom power (with excerpts from Strong's Dictionary) and a challenge.

4 Types of Kingdom Power

1: Koah = Great in Ability

"But you must remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to get wealth, so that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is today" (Deut. 8:18).

Koah means capacity, ability to be firm; vigor, literally or figuratively, capacity and means to produce), fruits, substance and wealth. It includes all the gifts (natural and supernatural) you need to excel in your work, and in turn, produce fruits of abundance to share with others.

2: Exousia = Great in Authority

"He went up into the mountain and called to Him those whom He desired, and they came to Him. He ordained twelve to be with Him, and to be sent out to preach, and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons" (Mark 3:13-15).

Exousia means possessing authority, the right to act in power. In includes authority in jurisdiction, authority (influence) and of the right (privilege) to walk in the power of rule or government. It tells us we walk in the same kingdom authority as Jesus, where He took authority over ever situation the Father instructed him—even authority over His own crucifixion (which He could have halted at any time).

3: Dunamis = Great in Miracles

"All the believers were of one heart and one soul, and no one said that what he possessed was his own. But to them all things were in common. With great power the apostles testified to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on them all" (Acts 4:32-33).

Dunamis means with miraculous power, might and great force. By implication, it points to a miracle itself. Above this inherent power to perform miracles, it also includes moral power and excellence of soul, the power and influence which belong to riches and wealth, power and resources arising from arising from numbers including power in or resting upon armies, forces and hosts.

4: Kratos = Great in Reigning

"Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Eph. 6:10).

"But after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory through Christ Jesus, will restore, support, strengthen, and establish you. To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen" (1 Pet. 5:10-11).

Kratos means effective power in reigning. It includes vigor, dominion, a work of power dominion. Jesus has given us keys to the kingdom (Matt. 16:19) to take back dominion over ever societal sphere of influence (business, arts and entertainment, media, government, education, family, faith).

Your Kingdom Power Challenge

Ability. Authority. Miracles. Reigning.

Here is the reality: You have been given full and complete access to:

  • unleash God's koah within your sphere of influence.
  • unleash God's exousia within your sphere of influence.
  • unleash God's dunamis within your sphere of influence.
  • unleash God's kratos within your sphere of influence.

So where do you stand within each? Do you have some areas in which you could walk in greater koah, exousia, dunamis or kratos? (Of course you do—and so do I!)

Here is your and my challenge: Take 20 minutes today to commune with the Father and ask Him:

  • In what area(s) is it time for me to walk in greater kingdom power?
  • In what way(s) do you desire me to unleash kingdom power in my sphere of influence?

Sample Kingdom Power Prayer

To kickstart the challenge, here is a sample kingdom power prayer to begin:

"Abba Father, reveal to me where and how You desire me to walk in greater koah, exousia, dunamis and kratos to impact society for Your kingdom. In Jesus' name."

Then listen as you pray in the Spirit. Stir yourself up. Write down the first thing you hear; that is very likely from God. Dig deep into that revelation. Then put it into action.
