Lessons From the Founding Fathers to Help You Overcome Debt

This week, as we celebrate another Independence Day, we are reminded of the ringing declarations made by the Founding Fathers on July 4, 1776. They are the cornerstones of our national liberty and your financial War of Independence.

The Founding Fathers declared that all men are created equal. In God's eyes that is true, and America has struggled ever since 1776 to make that statement a reality for its citizens. As far as your financial independence is concerned, it means that you are equal to those like bankers, politicians, bureaucrats or attorneys who would seek to lord over you. You are as important as anyone else, and you can hold your head up high.

The Founding Fathers said that the Creator gave us our rights. Not the government. This means that you do not have to beg for what is rightfully yours or stand back and wait for permission. Even though big government has infringed on some of our rights, we are still able to pursue our dreams through Christ who came to give us abundant life (John 10:10).

That is the meaning of the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We at the Emancipation Network want to see people live life to the fullest, set free from bondage of debt and free to pursue their dreams. We believe that even the dreams are given by God, and He has given us our inalienable rights to pursue them.

Financial independence comes at a price, as our national independence did. It took seven years for the dream of Independence set forth on July 4, 1776, to become a reality. During these seven years, there was a difficult struggle with many losses, but the victory came through perseverance. You, too, can be successful if you never give up.

You can use your God-given rights to life, liability and the pursuit of happiness to achieve your dreams if you never give up.
