If you feel yourself trying to persuade your audience, this blog is for you.

When I read persuasive messages, I wonder who needs the persuasion. People with felt needs only want to know how your product or service will help.

When we offer a product our target audience wants, persuasion will likely have a negative impact. No one really wants to be sold.

We prefer to buy what we need based on relevant information.

We eliminate the need for persuasion by providing content in places our audience will find it. Content consists of educational material.

As an example, click here for a free download on how to use Facebook Live in your marketing efforts.

We must work daily to develop a deep understanding of the stated and unstated needs of our audience.

What material can we develop to help people build confidence in our message?

Children don't need to be persuaded to buy the latest toy. They are brand evangelists long before they have their toy in hand. All the little ones need to do is figure out how to finagle funding for the purchase.

Persuasion is for people who sell products for which there is no need.

We build trust as we deliver educational content.
