Vinson Synan
Dean of the divinity school at Regent University since 1994, Vinson Synan has served as a pastor and the general secretary of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and is a well-respected historian of the Pentecostal movement, having written and edited numerous books, including The Century of the Holy Spirit (Nelson) and The Holiness-Pentecostal Tradition (Eerdmans).
In the article "2000 Years of Prophecy" (page 24) Synan surveys the landscape of prophetic ministry from the first-century church to the modern prophetic movement. He demonstrates that the Pentecostal/charismatic movement--and the church in general--owes much of its missionary zeal and creative expansion to the sometimes- enigmatic, often piercing messages given by its prophets.
Eddie L. Hyatt
Eddie L. Hyatt is passionate about facilitating authentic revival in the church. He holds a doctor of ministry degree from Regent University, and master of arts and master of divinity degrees from Oral Roberts University. Hyatt enjoys combining academic excellence and anointing in his writings and ministry in churches, conferences and Bible colleges.
In addition to itinerant teaching and preaching ministry, Hyatt serves on the faculties of Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, and World Impact Bible Institute in St. Catharines, Ontario, and has appeared on Daystar and TBN. He speaks and writes on issues related to today's church and the topic of his book, 2000 Years of Charismatic Christianity (Charisma House).
In the article "Putting Personal Prophecy to the Test" (page 30), Hyatt explores biblical guidelines for personal prophecy, offering pastoral wisdom for shepherding this important ministry in the local church.
He and his wife, Susan, make their home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. His Web address is www.revivalandreforma tion.org.
J.Lee Grady
J. Lee Grady is the editor of Charisma magazine and author of several books, including 10 Lies the Church Tells Women and 25 Tough Questions About Women and the Church (both by Charisma House). He has been an ordained minister in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church since 2000.
In recent years, Grady has traveled extensively, reporting on the church internationally and challenging the people of God to release and empower women for ministry leadership.
In the article "Can You Spot a Prophet?" (page 36), Grady candidly shares about his own calling as a "reluctant prophet" and explores the biblical characteristics of authentic prophetic ministry, drawing on the accounts of Huldah, Samuel, Deborah, Elijah and others.
Grady lives in the Orlando, Florida, area with his wife and four daughters.
