Pastor Hayford is right. We need this among the ministry. There is much that we can learn from EFCA. I would also suggest having someone like Franklin Graham on the board.I think it is important to have representation from Para-Church ministries as well as Evangelists, Missionaries, etc., not just Pastors.

While I have strong convictions guarding against legalism, I am totally in favor of this proposal. The Christian community is a joke to the outside world. They have no confidence in our word. A basic ethical and moral standard for leaders should be welcomed by both the church and society. In my opinion, Jack Hayford is the right man to head such a council. His integrity has proven over decades. Even though I am Pentecostal/Charismatic, I also suggest Rick Warren as one of the main leaders of this council. In my opinion Rick has represented Christianity in an excellent way when dealing with secular media. May God bless and give great wisdom to Jack and others who accept this responsibility and calling.

I agree, and thank Dr. Hayford for his article, and for his sensitivity, humility, and leadership. I believe the leaders of our church in Vancouver, Canada, would subscribe to such a proposal - knowing that the heart of it is not to promote a man nor establish a legalistic structure, but rather deepen our integrity: for our own sakes, for a watching world, and for the name and glory of the Lord.
