0 #6 Ginny S. 2009-03-18 16:44 Why hasn't Bentley confessed his sin and said, "I committed adultery, divorced my wife, married my lover, and deceived the flock. I am now repenting and confessing my sins, but I am also stepping down from ministry, Prayerfully, God will allow me to minister again one day, but if not, I will accept that as a consequence of my sins." If he said something like that, I would have some respect for him. As it is, I think this is just another "greasy grace" thing like Lee Grady said.
I am very disappointed in Rick Joyner.

0 #5 Rick Ralph 2009-03-18 05:50 I also question the 99%. Restoration between he and God is necessary. Restoration between he and his former wife and children is necessary. But to call it restoration or healing and continue in the course he has set for himself is wrong. I believe in forgiveness. I believe in repentance. I don't believe this man should be back in ministry any time soon. There's no credibility now. And now I wonder about the credibility of the counseling pastors (whom I respect, have agreed with and have read their books). Quote

0 #4 Linda Cote 2009-03-18 05:00 99%? I would think 99% would agree with the fact that our God is a God of restoration, however it is hard to believe 99% of the Christian population is in favor of the way this is being handled! Ricky Joyner collecting funds for Todd Bentley's 'future' ministry is considered an outrage in many Christian circles!! I don't care what 'gift of God' supposedly exists in him, I wouldn't let him lay hands on me for a million bucks! When the Body of Christ wakes up to the fact that celebrity christianity is NOT from God, we will certainly all be more like Jesus! Quote

0 #3 tom grossman 2009-03-17 14:57 Rick, I'm sorry this looks like damage control. 99% favorable? That sounds like a stretch. I fully believe in this young mans full restoration to Jesus, but what is and what will be released through this ministry? We are giving every struggling marraige in America a great excuse for divorce - men can all say "we are only following the leaders in the church".

The truth is that Todd was released into ministry too fast in the first place. He was never sound in his walk. And now we have a spoiled, gifted youg man who is an expert at using the media and manipulating it for his own promotion.
Todd needs years to let his ambition and vision die. He claims that he wants to deal with his issues, but is too self willed for that to happen.
Father, we ask for mercy, You are not insecure Lord. You do not bend Your word to accomplish You purposes. You are never in a hurry.
Look at the ancient model of training in Scripture. The Lord is not afraid to park His gifted ones for many years out of the bright lights so that He can produce fruit in their lives. Look at Abraham…Joseph…Moses…Joshua…David… Paul… In all of these men God spent many years developing their character before releasing them into fullness of ministry.
Todd is exactly the opposite, he is a flash in the proverbial pan.
If Rick really believes in Todd, he should put him on the altar and see if God raises him from the dead - Todd will never be what God intended for him when his gifts are being peddled to the highest bidder.
Father, we ask for keen discernment in this difficult hour. Help us see rightly. Mourn over sin and be full of mercy. Protect us from judgement, but give us pure hearts that love peace.

0 #2 Dane Gressett 2009-03-17 14:57 When adullterers and false prophets accuse self-righteous pharisees of being worse sinners in God's sight, then they have joined the pharisical ranks.

Sin is sin.

Is this a new reality television series? Like Hulk Hogan or Ozzie? Please give us all a break for Christ's sake.

Todd, please deal with your stuff and stay out of the public eye.

Don't presume that God is going to use you as a prominent teacher after your failure simply because you formerly had a prominent role.

Take the back seat.

0 #1 GABE 2009-03-17 14:37 i like how barnum and bentley ignore the rest of galatians 6. like verse 3 (For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. ) This guy (bentley) is already taking donations to start his new ministry off. This seems a bit presumptuous. poor shonna, she cant even say anything because i would bet that she depends on the bank this guy pulls in. cant wait till fakeland part deux happens. Quote
