Schuller Offers Leadership Pep Talk After Downsizing

QUOTE: "God doesn't promise success, and we must remember that there is no success without sacrifice. There will be complaints and criticisms. You must not let that infect your spirit. … It's tough being the leader. Leadership has its price. Nobody else wants to do it. Nobody else dares to do it. … I'm surprised this church is still here at a time when the secular pressures are so strong. There are no cultural movements right now to give us momentum like they did about 40 years ago." —83-year-old Crystal Cathedral founder Robert H. Schuller, addressing the church's leadership after officials announced the church would be selling a 150-acre ranch property and an office complex, laying off at least 50 more employees and canceling the church's traditional "Glory of Easter" pageant—all due to an unexpected 27 percent decline in revenue [ocregister.com, 1/31/10]

LORD, help us to love one another the way YOU love us, and to forgive one another the way YOU forgive us. May we love others because YOU love them, and not only for the good or bad actions that they've done in their lives! We may hate the "actions" that doesn't align with YOU LORD, but love all GOD'S Children and PRAY for them as well....In the Matchless Name of JESUS CHRIST, our LORD AND SAVIOR! Amen AND AMEN! :-)

21 Then Peter came and said to Him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" 22 Jesus *said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
Matt 18:21-22 (NASB)

Are you on Schullers Board of Advisers? Are you part of his congregation he answers to? Were you there when he received the correction? Did you see it be delivered? Do you work for his church? Are you in a position to change things in that chruch?

I'm not saying his teachings are correct, but it is not our right to leap up and scream heretic every time we think someone is doing something wrong. We are not the judge. We do not have this right.

9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, " The Lord rebuke you!"
Jude 1:8-10 (NASB)

"We are to give correction in a LOVING manner, not a vicious attack on someones character. If he is wrong, then we gently correct in love. Paul taught us this."
The only problem with your quote above is that he has been given correction in love many, many times but he refuses to accept it and continues to preach heresy . He is a new ager. Suggest you listen to some of his false preaching before trying to correct me!

I never said I did not know anything about him. I said I had never met him or his family, and Matt 7:1 gives me the right to say "Do not judge".

Yes, We are called to be watchmen, but that does not give us the right to verbally attack the man, or anyone for that matter.

If I were to call every Pastor to the carpet that ever made a mistake, we would have no Pastors at all. Not one of us is perfect.

The verse was not out of context. I used it the same way Jesus did when he encountered a mob ready to stone someone. I came to this webpage and encountered people throwing stones already. When was the last time you made a mistake? When was your last sin? And pleading the type and kind is of no matter, if you break one commandment, you have broken them all.

We are to give correction in a LOVING manner, not a vicious attack on someones character. If he is wrong, then we gently correct in love. Paul taught us this.

Andy, the very fact you know nothing about this man tells me you are in no position to tell people not to judge. We are called to be watchmen. I suggest you start to watch Schullers programs and see how false he just is. Secondly, you have taken that verse completely out of context. suggest you do a study on it dear brother.

Why is it that the moment there is trouble in a church people start blaming and name calling? Is this how Jesus taught us to behave? No it is not. And if you are a part of it then you are NOT a Christian no matter what you think.

It's time to stop this and begin supporting each other in order to build God's kingdom, not ours.

I've never met Pastor Schuller or his family, but it's an extremely sad commentary that people are so ready to judge. "Let him is is without sin cast the first stone."

If this angers you, then you really need to wonder why.

 Well - No wonder! Where's your son ? - your daughter certainly doesn't measure up to much! Your situation is all on your shoulders - maybe age is keeping you from thinking straight!! Your son was capable & good to watch & listen to - I'de call you less than dumb (no forward thinking!) but I'm too nice to do that.

Success comes and is promised from following the word of God. Amen!
Joshua 1:7-8 (King James Version)

7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
