And the 'Sermon Illustration of the Week' Award Goes to …

QUOTE: "Sure, we could just bungee jump, but that’s not as daring as skydiving. Following Christ is the most incredible adventure anyone will ever embark on. So when God calls you to jump, to leave everything behind and follow Him completely, it's guaranteed to be amazing! And skydiving is the only thing we could think of to illustrate this." —Tim Bourne, lead pastor of Genesis Metro Church in Frisco, Texas, who, along with Associate Pastor Justin Powell, decided to illustrate a sermon on Ecclesiastes 5 by jumping out of an airplane while church members watched on an observation deck below [wfaa.com, 1/24/10]

What an awesome illustration for us all...to get over ourselves and our fears and take the jump to have complete faith in God and chase after Him. Pure greatness!

This was amazing! What a way to illustration a spiritual 'jump' by doing something in the physical!

Amazing! What a picture of what is asked of us...to jump into our faith with everything, even when it is scary and unreal. So much more is waiting on the other side of that jump! Great job Pastors! Thanks for the inspiration... :-)
