Dr. Rutland, president of Oral Roberts University (ORU), believes in transformational change.  With a history of successfully turning organizations around—from Calvary Assembly in Winter Park, Fla., to Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla., to ORU—he knows that leadership training isn’t something you do just once; it is a process. He will talk about how you can be equipped for effective leadership.

But he knows that leaders need more for true growth than just listening to seminars. That is why he has teamed up with Ministry Today and the Ministry21 Network to launch the National Institute of Christian Leadership, a yearlong program designed to help you take your church or ministry to the next level.

Although the program was announced to attendees of the Summit on Integrity on Nov. 16 with Pastor Larry Stockstill, enrollment for 2011 in the Institute is open for any who wish to attend.

Dr. Rutland's vision is that by attending the Institute you will be better equipped to make a difference in your church and community, and in the world.

Are you ready to really make a difference?

The National Institute of Christian Leadership lets you interact with Dr. Rutland on a personal level and then process and apply what you have learned to your own situation. You get university-level leadership training that is intense, personal, practical and relevant.

Through four “intensive" quarterly sessions, Dr. Rutland will interact and answer questions in a group of fewer than 200 people. The schedule for the two-day sessions is as follows:

• Feb. 7-8: Leadership Management; Orlando, Fla.    
• March 28-29: Staff & Volunteers; Tulsa, Okla.
• Sept. 12-13: Preaching & Worship; Tulsa, Okla.
• Nov. 7-8: Strategic Leadership for Growth; Orlando, Fla.

Attendees who fulfill the course requirements will receive six credit hours toward a bachelor's degree, a masters degree or a doctorate. Currently, ORU in Tulsa, Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla., and Kings University in Los Angeles will accept these credits toward appropriate degree programs.

The cost is $4,000 for the entire year or $1,250 per session. Spouses may attend free (two for the price of one), and each couple will earn credit toward a degree when both spouses apply and are accepted. The cost is less than the tuition for six hours of graduate study and is tax-free for those in the ministry is a church or ministry pays the tuition.

Who should attend? Everyone’s situation is different—maybe you’ve inherited a situation that isn’t going well and you don’t know where to turn. Maybe you’ve had great success but things have platitude. Maybe you have a vision, but you can’t get your staff or board to align with it and you need someone with Dr. Rutland’s experience and expertise to show you the way. Or perhaps you need to make directional turns or need to figure out how to turn up the gas to get more to happen. Dr. Rutland will codify what he teaches and make it practical.
