Pastors Comment on Immigration

QUOTE: "When you've got a friend who's screaming out in pain, who's saying this is really dangerous, you pay attention to that." —David Gushee, who teaches at Mercer University in Georgia and is a leader of the New Evangelical Partnership for the Common Good, speaking about immigration reform. A number of evangelical leaders—including pastors Samuel Rodriguez, Bill Hybels, Joel Hunter and Bishop George McKinney—signed a statement that ran in ads around the country last week calling for comprehensive immigration reform that tightens borders and provides a path to citizenship. There is too much talk about immigration these days and its all about people from third word countries where the so called developed world used to go and get resources for theier gain and now because they are finished you have nothing to do with poor people.I will tell you one thing the worl will never be at peace if this descrimination continues. The west will spend millions ob security tyring to protect them selves but will never ever be safe.lets accommodate one another. It hurts and that is trasnfarable to our children and even if we die the children will have the same attitude towards the west.Lets live in peace

Since Joel Hunter backed Obama for president and gave an inaugural prayer for him, I tend to distrust what he says and does. The issue here will be in the details of what Hunter and friends are calling for about Immigration. This very short report makes it appear like something reasonable, but you cannot tell until you see the details. Where is the ad that was run? Why is it not here? Do the details of Hunter's reform include amnesty? Giving SS benefits to those here illegally? No need for them to pay back taxes? Just what would Hunter have us do? He tends to back Socialistic reforms... He lives in Orlando, FL and we know him as more of a Liberal...
