Hell No More

QUOTE: "There's a big change that's taken place as far as evangelicals not wanting to be as exclusive. … When you're trying to market Jesus, sometimes there's a tendency to mute traditional Christian symbols. Difficult doctrines are left by the wayside. Hell is a morally repugnant doctrine. People wonder why God would send people to eternal punishment. … [But] if you don't mention God's judgment, you are missing a big part of the Christian gospel. Without wrath, there's no grace." —Kurt Selles, director of the Global Center at Samford University's Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Ala., on the increased tendency among pastors to avoid preaching or teaching on the topic of hell [Religion News Service, 8/2/09]

It must be nice to have absolute certainty... it amazing to me that I have such a profound love for the Lord and have been faithful in my witness for years but just have not the clarity and certainty that you apparently have. I GUESS I am close to Paul's explanation.. I ONLY SEE A Through GLASS DARKLY... but some day will have a greater perspective on it all. You have apparently already know the answers to my issue of concern it must be great to have such clarity of insight

PS...ALL OF MY FAMILY ARE DEVOTE CHRISTIANS

To answer Anthony:

It all depends what you call family. If your relatives are part of the Kingdom, you have nothing to worry about, but if they are not, they are presently an enmity with God and with His true children.

When all has been said and done, your true family will be those who walked with Jesus not those who walked with the devil.

If you don't want your parents to perish eternally, intercede for them now and don't blame God if they choose not to receive His unfathomable love.

In heaven there will never be tears because we will all finally realize that those who set themselves in life against the Lord were never part of the true family of God, therefore any links we had here will no longer matter.

Even Jesus said, "Who is my mother or my brothers? Those who do the will of God are my mother, my brothers and my sisters." (Mat 12:46-50)

And that is the true family... 8)

By the way, I'm a man... LOL!

I really like the way Gentle Wind deals with this subject! She understands that God is LOVE and The Wages of Sin is Death. These words sound so simple to understand but truely it takes a life time and a revalation to understand PURE LOVE . . . . Love like Mother Theresa - to the poor, to the dirty and to the sick - with no regard for self . . . Even "Strong Christians find this kind of Love impossible -
We look around and allow our flesh to over ride what God has called us to do - To Love Everyone and to Be A LIGHT unto the World. Leading EVERYONE TO JESUS - I often feel that the people who talk in terms of unbelievers going to hell to suffer forever is mostly from people to struggle so hard to lead people to God but in the rejection of the masses - their flesh rises up and they hold unto this ULTRA PUNISHMENT for the pain they suffered from the rejection . . . WE ALL REJECTED GOD MANY TIMES BEFORE WE FINALLY CAME TO THE LIGHT -

In response to Sunshine:

What you said is true but the message of life that we have been entrusted by our forefathers was not to avoid hell nor to make our final destiny in heaven. Heaven begins in us the moment we are truly born again. Jesus is heaven, His love makes our lives worthwhile.

Hell has already begun in the hearts of the uncoverted because their deeds are evil. However, to reach out to them we must first let Father love us and impart into us His very heart, otherwise our message will become convoluted with a fearful diatribe of half truths that saves no one. It simpley buys them an "insurance policy" that no one will be able to "cash in."

The true message is that the Lord has made all things right by dealing wth sin once and for all. He has put away death for good through His resurrection, and has joined the entire world to Himself through the humanity of God.

This in turn has opened the door to be part of the Trinity family forever...

Faith comes hearing - People who have faith that it is JUST and Good for unsaved people to burn in hell for Eternity - only believe that because that is what they heard over and over again. I do understand the verses that people are confused by - I Agree there is a Hell and HELL Burns forever - but Unsaved people do not - THEY PERISH - Faith comes from Hearing and HEARING OF THE WORD OF GOD - WHEN YOU HEAR John 3:15-16 enough - all the other verses make sense - Unsaved people are not eternal beings - Hell was created for The Devil and his Angels who are Eternal Beings - Unsave people will go there and they will suffer and burn and there will be wailing and knashing of teeth if that makes you happy - But they will not suffer there for Eternity - Eternity in Heaven is more than any of us deserves - BUT SO IS ETERNITY IN HELL. Angel who fell knew the difference - we humans do not - we live by Faith. And Get Saved by Faith. HAVE FAITH THAT GOD IS HOLY AND RIGHTEOUSE AND JUST!

After reading some of the comments on this one, I realize that a spirit of deception is running rampant. I pray the Holy Spirit reveals to the spiritually blind that hell is real & it lasts forever. We are to pray for & witness to family & friends now. They will have to repent while they are alive because after death, there is no more opportunities to give your life to Jesus. Don't plan on going to God when you die & pleading for your loved ones, do it now. Fast & pray for your loved ones today.

You are apparently convinced that God's Righteousness, Grace, and Mercy are subject to our personal interpretations of semantics. I hold to God's absolute Sovereignty ( God can do whatever He wants to do).. So I WILL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW DESPITE YOUR PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THE SCRIPTURES MEAN. I will be in heaven approaching my loving, compassionate heavenly father pleading for anyone I know who is in agonizing torment.. "Dont you think they had enough".. How can anyone be content in heaven knowing the most precious love ones, friends and family, are being tortured forever. I have no problem with the reality of eternal life....I just believe the concept of eternal death is the ceasing of existence

OK, there is a hell..

Would you be content while your mother, father son or daughter were in unbelievable pain forever with no relief. WOULD YOU GO TO THE LORD AND SAY DON'T YOU THINK THEY HAD ENOUGH.. ....

Obviously you are very well versed in the scriptures.. answer my question would you be content in heaven knowing that your loved ones are going through unbelievable pain or would you make an attempt to ask the Lord for some mercy

I believe the Bible is true and God's Word...I also believe scriptures need to be read in there "entire context"...which also means understanding of words and there various shades of meanings. I believe that the various translations from one language to another and the various interpretations that we have JK, NKJ, NIV, etc;are indicative of why Christians vary in there interpretations and personal beliefs.

Ask yourself this question: – Is an unsaved man born as an ‘Eternal Being’? Does an Unsaved man have Eternal Life???
The answer is NO - The Bible clearly tells us that we are mortals. We are mortals until we accept Jesus as our savior and put on immortality –
