Franklin Graham Urges Prayer for President Obama, America

franklin-graham-looking-rightOur country finds itself in perilous times, facing uncertainty and anxiety stemming from economic challenges, global instability and threats to our freedom and security as a people.

Having just come through a divisive national election, I am urging pastors across this country to lead their congregations in praying daily for our president, Barack Obama, and all of our elected leaders--for wisdom, Divine guidance, and that God would accomplish His will and purposes.

While politics is noticeably partisan, prayer must never be partisan. Americans need to come together, and people of faith should lead the way, by praying diligently for our leaders whether or not they agree with them or their policies. God's Word commands us to pray for 'kings and all who are in high positions.' (I Timothy 2:2)

When we look at the moral and economic decline of our nation and the international threats before us, it should be clear that we cannot solve these monumental problems without the help of Almighty God.

As Americans this Thanksgiving, may we be reminded to thank God for His blessings; and may we also remember to pray for our nation and the protection of our freedoms. Our future may very well depend on our prayers."

Quoting lMrs. Lynn Koukal:
I couldn't agree more. It was surely a testy election and posed a difficult decision, but Christians who voted for the platform of what is God's heart, did the right thing. And that is what we are called to above all else, the right thing...the abiding thing with God. Now, The Lord is doing a shaking and we always have seemed to want Him to fix things for us...waiting on God, and yet, He is waiting for us to do what we are called to do...
2 Chronicles 7:14,,,,Do we want God to heal our land? Then we must pray, and pray without ceasing. Pastors as leaders of example for the flock they are responsible and accountable for must do this...corporate prayer, and personal prayer. God answers prayers, because He Listens to them.

God is waiting 4 Christians to allow the Word of God to renew our mind by reading God's Word and allow The Word to change our heart and become doers of His Word. The Body of Christ who walks in the flesh is the problem.

I agree with God and continue to make sure that I pray for our leaders from the nations to the Presidents and Senate etc. and those who are in authority in the workplace. That is a given.

I also recommend that we pray for the Body of Christ because throughout President Obama Presidency God has shown just how sick the body is. It is filled with hate and this is not pleasing to God. God is exposing the heart of His people to get rid of that cancer He calls hate. How can we be an example of Jesus if we allow our flesh to dictate what we are to abstain from. We are to Love what He Loves and hate what he hates. Neither of the candiates are perfect and neither are we, we are perfect in our Spirit but our soul and body has a lot of overhauling and it can only be accomplished by reading God's Holy Word. When we love one another then men will know that we are His Disciples. To God Be The Glory!
