There is a biblical method to deal with offenses by anyone in the church !. 1. tell them in private and gently. 2. If denying or lying or unrepenting or entrenching take one or two witnesses , I recommend as many as possible and not those in power . 3 if he apologizes or explains and youi are reconciled all is well forgive . But if it continues and he entrenches and does not repent or lies take him to the church . If criminal take it to the police , slander , improper behavior to your wife may be criminal . God does not forgive any unrepenting person , neither are we to . We are to confront in love , clarify with witnesses and expose the trespassers to the churches censure. Thats not how it always works or often works but God will judge , We are not to hate nor revenge just expose and protect our own . love to all ! Been there... verbally abused ....done that !

I believe the days of the large organized church will soon be coming to an end because of such incidents and others. Large churchs, in my opinion, are not part of God's plan. Too much room for sin to happen. And all those things that were mentioned here. Those people who treat others wrongly will reap what they have sewn. God will judge within. I came from a very strongly abusive church in the past about 11 years ago and still have some issues that arise from all that garb. We need to go back to the basics. The early churches were held in peoples homes. That seems to be the way it will happen again. I heard of some doing that and the intent of others who are considering it. We do not want to forsake the gathering of ourselves as the bible teaches. .

Continued: My Wife went to a conference with him and it was a two hour drive. He had his hand on her leg and she pretended to be asleep. She was nervous enough about it to tell me. He told her "since I'm a Pastor and married I have to control myself. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT? I feel betrayed. He tells my wife that I'm this and that and even at one point convinced her to get a restraining order on me when she confided in him that we had a heated arguement. I never ever hit her in 20 years of marriage it was just an arguement. I am almost 50 years of age and he is 64 and treats me like a kid. Problem is we are also his tenants and live next door. I am afraid if I confront him we will get evicted. I already quit going to Church for 3 weeks now. My Wife also started going to a different Church. She told him there was nothing there for the Children so she found a chruch that has a teen program. He acted like it did not bother him but I'm waiting for the bomb to drop. Sorry had to vent.

Been going to a fundemental Church for 13 years now and I think I'm done! The Pastor told me that there is no one in the Church that feels like I am a Christian and that he doesnt either. I asked why? He went on by saying how I dont put enough in the offering plate and how I don't always sit in the Church service instead I watch it on a close circuit TV while watching my Children in the fellowship hall. He then went on to say people have been complaining about my Children making to much noise, my daughter is 5 and my other daughters for wearing makeup or wearing shorts. He actually nsaid in the old days my daughter would be stoned and spit on for being disrespectful. Now she will not go to Church. He puts many members down with goofy nicknames. My Wife is now telling me that whenever she sees him he kisses her on the lips and smacks her rear end and laughs when she says stop. He told her that just because there is snow on the roof does not mean that there is not a fire in the chimney??

Our pastor asked in his sermon last Sunday where are the young men in the church? That they weren't at the saturday work days. Except for 1 teen. There are 4 teenage boys in our church. 2 are mine and 2 are a friends. For 2 years my son has worked in AWANA youth group with young children. All 4 boys have helped over the years with feeding the homeless. Currently they have school work and sports and other activities. He made it seem as if they don't do anything. In the past they have helped. Our church is very small. The other children are 1 pre teen girl and a family of 5 kids,3 teen girls and a little boy and girl. Our church has been shrinking over the years. We are behind in rent and haven't paid the pastor in awhile. We have around 33 people left and also a small Lao fellowship. We know people who have left. Years ago the cost of my husband's tires was ask in a sermon. We have been there along time around 13yrs. Just tired of being commented on.
