Thank you for reminding me of a man who ministered to me during an extremely critical time in my life. Even today I see his influence on the way I relate to my congregation. I was among the pastors at his writers' and pastors' retreats in Cornville, Arizona. Jamie was a true hero to me.

have been over the last 20 years blessed by Bro Buckingham’s candid life stories. Picked up a book by Mr. Buckingham in my first day in Bible College in April 1992, not realising at all that he went to be with the Lord a couple of months earlier. It was in later years that I learn of his journey home. Have recited his analogies and stories in some of my fellowship in Pacific Islands I visited, and even in remote villages. Eyes lit up when I mention the name Buckingham…well, it certainly has a “Royal” ring to it, especially in many former British colonies of the Pacific I visited. Regular mention of his name drawn me closer to Mr. Jamie Buckingham…he is more than royalty..indeed, he is a true son of the ultimate royalty; the King of kings. I continue, since April 1992, gleaned from his impartations through his writings…be meeting you in THE Palace!!

I was blessed to attend a writing conference Jamie led. His influence on me was so profound that I remember almost everything he said, to this day. He was SO humble. I never knew how "famous" he was until years later. He knew so much about writing, and about God. At that conference, he admitted his fear that the cancer could return. And he said "if that happens, then I am in the hands of God." I could see how earnest He was about his trust in His Creator. He seemed to glow with an inner flame. Like many, many others - I still miss him.
