I do not know Pastor Garlow, never heard of him until I read his article. Yes, we should not be blatantly political from the pulpit but we should be a voice for what is right. There are other 'pastors', so called, that attack the government, our leaders, etc. Why can't we as Biblical Pastors, bring out the truth? I agree that we should not tell our people how to vote but I will always preach the truth as God reveals it from the Bible.

Research, and seriously research (don't just go to Wikipedia) the Black Robe Regiment. Does your preacher see you every week, at least for weekend worship services? And apparently you do not listen enough to Rev. Garlow, because he has preached on obesity, as he has struggled with weight his whole adult life. Check the archives. Again, speaking in such loose generalities without fact makes anyone look, well, less than desired. Have you seen his house? Or his car? Your assumption that he lives lavishly is fascinating. Have you been wounded by a mega-church pastor? May our hearts and minds be aligned with Christ, and not what we merely THINK.

Well "truthistruth", yes I agree with my pastor. I love how my pastor keeps politics out of the pulpit. I love how my pastor is not suckered in by the extreme right wing hate mongers. Though I have never physically been in Rev. Garlow's church, I have listened to him enough to know that I don't care for his right wing mega church style.

For both of you, I am saddened. Based off of your own comments, your pastors don't sound as though they are preaching the way you want them to. Time for a change? Secondly, how would your pastor feel about your comments? Thirdly, it would do us well, as we are upholders of the truth and not just opinion-mongers, to not generalize to brashly. I bet none of us envy this pastor's position, as he is one of the only one's standing up for all of us.

Where were these conservative right wing preachers when we were about to send our men into an immoral war in the Middle East? Where are these preachers when it comes to taking a stand against obeisty in America? We can hear how bad smoking and drinking is, but what about the hypocirisy of 250 lb preachers preaching this stuff to us? And where is the preaching about loving your neighbor? Instead, these right wing charlaitains are mired in hate-filled battles against those who live differently than they do. And were is the preaching against these mega-church preachers and their lavish lifestyles? Too much hypocirsy here for me.

Congregations need to hear about getting saved. There is enough in the Bible to win hearts for Jesus without ministers getting politically involved. How many sermons have been preached on divorce and that in my opinion has destabilized American families today. That is NOT a political subject and totally biblical. For instance one presidential candidate has been married three times and each time cheated on the previous spouse. How can that be defended?
