  :sigh:  Boy, this is getting pretty frightening. I'll pray for Pastor Clarke and hope that the Holy Spirit gives her ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT IDEAS! This is getting creepy, We need to pray for ALL PASTORS, PRIESTS, EVANGELISTS, PROPHETS, APOSTLES ,PREACHERS AND TEACHERS. This is getting very frightening in the church where people are doing things without consulting Him. Is it any wonder we have churches shutting down, getting sued, and Christians getting shot at? nott tryingto b a wet blanket here but OBEDIENCE IS KEY FOLKS- WHEN GOD SAYS NO HE MEANS IT!

Someone asked, “Why is this article in here?” Uh answer: so we can pray. I'm actually thankful to Ministry Today for posting this article. It is eye opening to hear about what is going on in churches around the world. As leaders in ministry we MUST pray for leaders everywhere. How was it that Pastor Jane Clarke was able to make such a poorly thought out decision? Who was praying with her...better yet FOR her! My prayer is that as we hear of struggling church leaders, we fall to our knees and not get tunnel vision,(which I have also been guilty of so many times) only focused on what is relevant to us. If it was not for God’s grace and the prayers of believers around us we might be in the same predicament. Remember: 1st Cor 10:12 "So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!"

Rev Ande Anderson & Arising Glory, Thanks for expressing your frustration over stories like this. If you're a regular reader of the Ministry Today Report (in which this originally appeared) and our overall news coverage, you'll notice we often run stories similar to this not for the sake of endorsement but to highlight significant cultural shifts. When defacing a Bible in a publicly funded art exhibit seems like a good idea for any "church" (regardless of the LGBT angle), I think it's noteworthy for legitimate pastors to realize what kind of spiritual and cultural climate they now face. In particular, we often find these stories from the European front important because of how rapidly the United States seems to be moving toward a similar "post post-Christian" society. Do you have to read this? Are we supporting this? Of course not. But I hope this gives you a better sense of the context in which we present such stories. And thanks again for offering you feedback--I really do appreciate it. Marcus Yoars Editor, Ministry Today

Kia Ora makes a good point. What would the world's reaction be if it were the Koran instead of the Bible? Would the same people even have bothered to deface it? The Word tells us that we will be like the stench of death to those that are perishing. This is why we see the response to the Truth that we see. Recent example would be the Sports Illustrated article on UF QB's faith. Despite being a positive article, it received much backlash and hate mail. See Jn 15:8; Matt. 10:22, 24:9; Mark 13:13; Luke 6:22, 21:17.

I can't find any comparable articles about this sort of treatment of the Koran. Apparently only the Bible is fair game. Maybe the issue is lack of respect for the sanctity of Scripture by Ms Clarke who opened this door. Most of the attack on faith comes from within.

What is this article here for? Has Ministry Today started supporting the un-Godly lifestyles which Jehovah condemns in His Holy Scripture???? If so, then I don't need to hear anymore from you! Jeremiah 12:10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. Jeremiah 12:11 They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

Having people in the Bible that are "LGBT" or not does not signify condoning the LBGT lifestyle. We have murder, adultery, blasphemy, gossip, deceit, lies, and pagan rituals of infant sacrifice in the Bible. However, there is no mention of approval of these actsd by God. In fact, just the opposite. To be fair, homosexuality is put in the same class as gossip and I imagine that many who are quick to condemn homosexuality are also guilty of gossip. None-the-less, neither makes the other okay. And to the girl who would not want a god that was not okay with her lifestyle, not to worry. He will not impose himself on you. It's your choice to accept His love and instruction or to reject it. Fools came up with this exhibit and fools responded to it. Shame on the public for allowing this use of their money with no apparent oversight.
