Just to finish (LOL) I think that we have to be careful. I think the article Mind Your Prayer Language may be helpful for some people to read. http://ministrytodaymag.com/index.php/evangelical-essentials/18387-mind-your-prayer-language I believe that God allowed Obama to come to office just to see just wha type of issues we Christians are truly dealing with. Are we racist; rebellious; hateful; envious; hypocrites? What feelings come up when his name is mentioned? No you may not be racist, but you may be just like Korah and causing other people to rise up against the leader. Believe it or not, we are subjected to his authority because God has given it to him. so when we speak against him, we speak against God! Would you accept someone talking ill about your pastor? Then why speak down on our president. It was the other way when Bush was in office. Alot of the black churches mummered and complained. They were just as wrong as what some of us are doing today.

William, as a black minister, I would have to say that you are somewhat skewed in your view. I hold to a Biblical veiw when it comes to the word of God and when it comes to my voting. God leads me in every vote that I make. I voted for McCain even though there were some things I didn't agree with him. I voted for some democaratics also because I agreed with some of their views. However, God knows who would be in the White House becasue it he ordained it from the beginning of time. I believe if he didn't want Obama to be in , it would have been McCain. I'm glad that Obama's in because he is causing us to stand for what is right. It's been too long that we have hid behind our "conservatism" and not for what God deems right. Sometimes our conservative views block God from really moving in our own life. I am a not a democratic neither republican but a Christocract! So just becareful how you label and put African Americans in one category. How would you feel if I did that to you?

Hey there, I believe african americans are conservative minded in church, but that's about it. They are deceived and misled as they vote as a bloc for the democrat party. When they voted for Obama because of his race, they voted for the abortion agenda, the homosexual agenda, the ACLU agenda to remove God from our society, the liberal socialist agenda,...and the list goes on. Jesse Jackson keeps the "herd" in the democrat party "corral". The black church has moral values in the church setting, but not in the voting booth.

I'm A black Pastor to who Is'nt Impressed with the Barna Report. Even though many blacks profess faith, that faith doesn't often translate Into how we live our daily lives.
This article is useless, because it does not contain essential data to make declarative statements or to prove the "facts" contained therein. (e.g. What is the margin of error? How many people were polled? Was a control group used? What were the quantifiers (age, income, years of school, relationship status, location or region...) How far did the extrapolation extend - from 100? 10? Any journalist should know that when polls are quoted, they must contain other information as well. This vapid writing shows that numbers can lie, and sometimes they do. Give us verifiable info on this interesting topic.

For M.P.: I believe God also allows us, just as he did Israel, to make mistakes. We are people of free will; as such we are free to make the wrong decision. God allows us to have exactly what we deserve. I agree that our nation is on the wrong path spiritually- Obama is the evidence of this, just as all the corrupt kings of Israel were evidence of their straying from God. Just as parents allow our children to "skin their knees" to learn, God allows the same. Nothing Biblical says that the United States will exist in the Last Days...

Just wanted to share something in the article that seems contradictory. I noticed that the survey states that 66% of African American's believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, yet t54% believe Jesus sinned while on the earth ,and 46% believe that satan is merely a symbol of evil. If their were no Satan, Jesus would not have had to die on the cross. How lo can a group of people or individuals claim to believe in the Bibll'e inerrancy, yet deny its foundational truths, it is like saying Janice is a Christian but does not believe jesus is the only way to heaven, when Jesus himself said, "I'm the Way,the truth and the Life".
Wynot - I wonder what you think about Romans 13: l,2 "the powers that be are ordained of God" or do you think the people of USA elect their own powers that be? A;so, I wonder why Daniel 4: all 3 verses, 17, 24, 32 say the same thing, "till you know that the Most High ruleth in the Kingdom of men and gives it to whom He (God) will." ? Personally, I don't think the blacks or anyone else put our President in power, but the way we vote actually only shows our opinions and preferences, of which we are responsible to God for. Over all, it seems to me that God gives His children what is best for us to glorify Him, as it all fits into His program: His ways being as far above our ways and the heavens are above the earth. I am and have always been a Republican since I was 18yrs old. I beleive in family values, faith -based concepts and businesses being the main support for our economy. Granted, I don't agree with all platforms presented by a lot of the Republican party but my foundation is solid, that is in what God values.
Unfortunately "wise Christians" are the ones who have gotten this country in the condition it is in! As far as being forced into anything, I believe you have been misinformed - for the "wise Christian leaders" of the past must have another standard that doesn't apply to anyone but their own little special interest groups, and that for the most part doesn't include Blacks, Latinos, or other people of color. Check yourself - then keep praying for those in authority remembering that God has them there for a reason, and one reason is to get our focus and attention back to HIM for direction. We're not called (for the most part to be politicians) although there are others who are, such as Jay Sekulo, who have that platform as their calling - we're called to preach the gospel, even as lay people and this is more about walking the walk instead of talking the talk! Let's keep each other in prayer because I wouldn't want to be in Obama's shoes, but prayer won't hurt!

As to WyNot's comment, what does this say about how whites have voted in the past. That President Obama is BLACK is NOT the real issue with you or your kind. Where are the stats for all the other presidents before him? All politics are local and you must accept the fact just as some Blacks have accepted that Obama is not what's wrong. He'll have to answer to a higher authority just as you and I will one day. Don't single out one little issue (the Black vote) when in the past, as long as another candidate won (usually a white one). The real fear is that Blacks will do to whites, what was done to them! Face it, America wouldn't be America without Blacks and we're still crying out for justice, but to God, not the government.

I am encouraged yet confused by this report. If Blacks in America are moving in a "direction that is more aligned with conservative biblical teachings", then why did they overwhelmingly (96% by some estimates) support a pro-abortion, socialist, anti-American president like Obama? If they truly are moving in the conservative direction, then their convictions need to show at the ballot box. Gee, it's like RACE overwhelmed all their other convictions.
