I notice that the greatest advocates of spirit and truth worhsip and that God is "offended" by worship in the flesh are just as concerned to ADVERTISE their expertise. I honestly thought I'd be reading comments regarding the article, which by the way, is very well written and helpful! Observation: Don't be so enamored with your own spirituality, visions & dreams to overlook the WRITTEN Word that PAUL said "EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue confess that Jesus is Lord," which includes Satan and his demon followers. I don't really believe God will be too offended : >) That said, a TRUE worshipper does worship "in spirit and truth," and that's when God returns the blessing back upon us, although TRUE worship is NOT about us, it's our love and adoration to HIM.

Regarding the topic at hand "worship", can we say we love God and then worship him according to our flesh and not in spirit and in truth as He says those who love me will do? There is nothing of man that God needs or desires this is why we have spirit and truth as the way of worship and only those who meet this standard worship God aright. "when love toward God is expressed through human emotion God becomes offended, but as we worship Him in spirit and in truth we meet His standard for love and He rewards us with an increase in Christ virtue" If you would like to learn how to worship God by His standard look me up on Facebook.
I have received calling before now (let's say for about 3 years now) and i have not really known where, when and how the calling looks like. Last 2 months (ie May) I dreamed that I was with a highly respected minister in my place - Pst. Adeboye Enoch. and he was like teaching me about humility and the meeting was more like one preparing his successor. The next day I was in a night vision too, in which I saw Rev. Dr. Eneche ministering to a dead man. there was no conversation between us. I was only observing the show. I am more less confuse. What is God saying? I would also appreciate if material to groom me up in the following areas can also be made available for me: 1. How to hear God. 2. How manifest the gift of healing. in great anticipation I am waiting your thirst-quenching reply. God bless!

Great article! I think the post modern church tries too hard to ramp it up. Lights, camera, action... everything should be in moderation... just like dress and makeup. I believe we're too loud to hear the Holy Spirit sometimes. We want Him to manifest, but we're too caught up in trying competing with this high-tech world (as we self-manifest), that we have trouble hearing and seeing what we're supposed to. Jesus came on a donkey.

Being a product of the Charismatic Renewal of the 70's & early 80's I became accustomed to heartfelt worship that came from the congregation, this worship did not need the support of a comprehensive sound and light display that has become so common within most of our large churches. If nothing else, provided that the senior minister and the musicians did not get in the way of Spirit led worship then things were great; now I find within my own congregation that I am being constantly bombarded by a combination of high intensity laser lights along with flashing spots. No wonder so many people spend a fair amount of time tinkering with their mobile phones during meetings - and so many of these congregations are "Spirit filled" and not just dry evangelistic.

Bible says in the Book of Acts, that the disciples met continuosly at homes for prayer, teaching and breaking bread. But now believers have no time during the week and the Pastor is expected to make them feel 'all is well spiritually' in 90 minutes program! No one who has not been feeding upon the Word or being led by the Holy Spirit during the week can suddenly turn into a TRUE WORSHIPPER. It is no wonder most Pastors try all gimmicks to entertain his flock lest they wander to better entertainer! Only thing Pastor should be worried about, is if his church resembles one of the 7 mentioned in the Book of Revelation.
