As a priest in the Greek Orthodox Church in America, I meet many people looking for a new church experience. Orthodoxy is growing rapidly in America as the former "mainline denominations" have departed from biblical teaching, while independent churches struggle with experimental worship styles and have drifted into entertainment-evangelism and non-evangelical movements like the Emerging Church. It is worth reflecting that historically, there was only one Church--and it still exists. It is Catholic, but not Roman; Evangelical, but not Protestant; Pentecostal, but not "Pentecostals;" Orthodox, but not Jewish. As Christian movements proliferate and come and go, we will still be here as the Apostolic church.

Quote from the article: "Scripture does not support this rigid view of denominational affiliation, and there may come a day when paths and partners change. " My question: Does Scripture support affiliation with any denomination?

I recently resigned from the denomination/church my husband and I have been attending for three years. I have major problems with their theology. How does a married couple need to deal with one leaving & one staying. After years of discussion and prayer, I'm leaving. He is staying.

A very good word. A very sound statement of love, moral and ethical standard. I admire the time and patience that was required in this transition and the good will that followed this effort. I do believe it was not a easy choice even though it was a right one for your congregation. The wisdom to execute it was definitely given by divine intervention. God bless you and thank you so much for sharing this story.
