Did you perform as a Roman candle? (Pexels)

One of my favorite questions Jesus asked His disciples was directed to Peter:

"Who do you say that I am?"

This question is like a mid-term exam for His students.

"Do you get it yet?"  They walked with Him, listened and observed all He said and did. But did they really understand the presence of the Messiah?

Jesus was His own message, but He also demonstrated His Word as HE lived. He modeled His message.

What a great example for us in business. We must show and tell. It's not enough to talk about it. The action of the business or ministry must be clear and consistent. There was no deviation in Jesus.

Check the consistency of your message over time. Look back at what you said—even a few years ago. Do you still say it and do it?

Did you perform as a Roman candle?  Did your message light up the sky for a season and fall to the ground as paper?

An enduring message feeds a ministry that endures. Jesus didn't change His message to conform to any system.

He lived as a candle to the Romans.
